Graduation

Graduation Day!

So, the month of March was a very memorable one. A lot of activities happened, College day, the NAAC team invigilation, students' day then the most important event- Graduation day. The day when everybody who is graduating, wears white saree. Oops, that has been a color code for long now!
So, this time it was the batch of 2009-2012 which was graduating. That was close to students being sent off! The day was full fledged with activities, songs, dances, videos, plays, inspiring speeches, and once the light was on, a whole lot of crying audience.
All these pretty ladies in white, were in college right at 10:30 am and to refresh them from all the energy they exhausted in dressing up, they were provided with refreshments. The programs in the auditorium followed a pattern. Each combination had something to present for their seniors who were passing out. The very well known play of Ms. Naureen Aziz, Lecturer of Communicative English- The JNC junction was presented by the Arts group. The video of the whole commerce team sections was done by one of the students.

And how could we forget the student Union whose time had come to Graduate- give up their responsibilities. All of them cried, after a heavy time at the auditorium- but surely acted as if a bug went into their eyes (seems like a lot of people heard that on Graduation day!). "Today is my last day at Jyoti Nivas College. I had come here for PU. I didn't fall in love with the college at once; it took me a lot of time. But, as time passed I learnt a lot of things- being away from parents at the age of 16 is scary. You are just half-way through your teenage and I was in an alien city. Now it has been 5 years, the moment we lighted our candles, I realized, this would be my last time as a student in this college." Harini Ramprasad, a 3rd year BCom student.
They met up with teachers, clicked pictures for memories, thanked them for their worthy contributions to their lives, and no speech/ talk was boring – however long it might have been dragged, getting phone numbers and endless promises to be in touch.
